Private Pool Villas Near An Bang Beach

Private Pool Villas Near An Bang Beach, Hoi An
A private pool villa at An Bang Beach means a whole house with its own pool, rented to one group at a time — not a hotel room with access to a shared pool. Villas here range from three to six bedrooms and sit between 0 and 50 metres from the sand, tucked into narrow lanes off Nguyen Phan Vinh street.
This page explains what is actually available near An Bang Beach, how the villas differ, and what to check before booking. Written from An Bang, not from a brochure.
Beachfront or beachside? The distinction that costs people money
Beachfront means the villa opens directly onto the sand. Beachside means it sits in a lane a short walk back — usually 30 to 50 metres. Listings use both words loosely, and the gap between them is the single most common source of disappointment at An Bang Beach.
Ask for the distance in metres, not for an adjective. A villa described as "steps from the beach" can be anything from 10 metres to 400 metres, because the lanes here bend and the walk is longer than the map line suggests.
Term | What it means here | Practical effect |
|---|---|---|
Beachfront | Opens onto the sand, no road between | Sea view from the pool, louder surf at night |
Beachside | 30–50 m back, one lane in between | Quieter, usually more garden space |
Near the beach | Anything from 50 m to several hundred | Always ask for the number |

Three bedrooms — Ben Villa
Ben Villa is beachfront, with three bedrooms arranged as two doubles and one twin, a private pool and a garden. The build uses recycled boat timber as its main material; cushions and curtains are made from brocade woven by ethnic minority communities, and the decorative pieces are local craftwork.
The architecture is open — rooms face the garden rather than closing off from it. That is excellent from March to August and worth thinking about in October and November, when the rain is persistent.
Four bedrooms — 88 Steps Villa and Sunrise Villa
88 Steps Villa sits about 50 metres from An Bang Beach in a quiet lane, with four double bedrooms, a private pool, a small yard and a full kitchen. The name comes from the walk to the water.
Sunrise Villa is at Tan Thanh Beach, roughly 30 metres from the sand, with four bedrooms, a private pool and a sauna. Tan Thanh sits 300 to 500 metres north of An Bang — about a five to seven minute walk — and is noticeably quieter.
Five and six bedrooms — Salt Villa and May Villa
Salt Villa is a five-bedroom beachfront house inspired by traditional stilt architecture, with a wooden sea-facing balcony, a large pool and a garden.
May Villa is the largest in the group: six bedrooms split across two blocks, each with its own living room and kitchen. That layout suits two families travelling together, or a group that wants shared meals without shared walls. Most bedrooms face the sea.
Which villa suits which group
Two families travelling together — May Villa, because the two-block layout gives each family a kitchen and living room.
A group of eight to twelve friends — Salt Villa or May Villa. Renting one five or six bedroom villa usually costs less than five or six hotel rooms of the same standard.
A family of six to eight with children — 88 Steps Villa, for the enclosed lane and the yard.
A smaller group that wants to be on the sand — Ben Villa, three bedrooms, beachfront.
Anyone staying a week or longer — consider Tan Thanh instead; Sunrise Villa and the apartments there are set up for longer stays.

Six things to check before booking any villa at An Bang
These come from things guests actually run into:
Can a car reach the gate? The lanes at An Bang are narrow. Seven-seaters and larger vans cannot always get to the door, and some guests end up parking at the mouth of the lane.
What is the distance in metres? Not "beachside", not "steps away" — the number.
Is the pool fenced? Matters if you are travelling with small children.
Is every bedroom air-conditioned? Open architecture is common here, and some rooms — attic rooms in particular — run warm in the hot season.
Is there indoor space for a rainy day? In October and November you will need it.
What is the minimum stay? Most villas here run a two-night minimum, longer over peak dates.
Getting to An Bang Beach
An Bang Beach is roughly 4 to 5 kilometres from Hoi An Ancient Town, about 10 to 15 minutes by motorbike. Administratively the area now sits in Hoi An Tay ward, Da Nang — the former Cam An ward was merged into it on 30 June 2025 — so maps and paperwork may show a different address to older travel articles. It is the same place.
Distance and transfer times from Da Nang International Airport: [to confirm].
When can you swim at An Bang Beach?
March to August is the reliable swimming season: calm water, clear conditions, steady sun. From September the sea starts to move, and through October and November it is generally not swimmable — heavy surf, murky water and seasonal erosion along parts of the shore.
This matters for villa bookings because the pool becomes the main water during those months, which is exactly when private pool villas make the most sense and cost the least.
Period | Sea conditions | Booking notes |
|---|---|---|
March – May | Calm, clear, mild weather | Best overall conditions |
June – August | Calm, hot at 33–36°C | Peak season, book well ahead |
September | Short showers, small swell | Still swimmable |
October – November | Heavy surf, murky water | Lowest rates, pool matters most |
December – February | Settling, cold water | Better for walking than swimming |
FAQ
What is a private pool villa at An Bang Beach?
It is a whole house rented to one group, with its own swimming pool, kitchen and living space. Nothing is shared with other guests. At An Bang Beach these villas range from three to six bedrooms.
How far are the villas from An Bang Beach?
It varies by villa. Beachfront houses such as Ben Villa, Salt Villa and May Villa open directly onto the sand. 88 Steps Villa is about 50 metres back through a lane. Sunrise Villa at Tan Thanh Beach is about 30 metres from the water.
What is the largest private pool villa near An Bang Beach?
May Villa, with six bedrooms arranged in two blocks, each block having its own living room and kitchen.
Is a villa cheaper than hotel rooms for a group?
For groups of eight or more it usually is, because one five or six bedroom villa replaces five or six separate rooms. It also gives you a kitchen and shared living space, which hotels do not.
Can a car drive up to the villa?
Sometimes. The lanes off Nguyen Phan Vinh street are narrow and not every villa has vehicle access to the gate. Confirm before booking if you are arriving in a seven-seater or larger.
Is An Bang Beach or Tan Thanh Beach better for a villa stay?
An Bang has more restaurants and beach bars and is busier. Tan Thanh, 300 to 500 metres north, is quieter and suits longer stays. The two are a five to seven minute walk apart, so guests at either can use both.
